Got NYs Resolution Fatigue?

There’s a lot of blah blah blah out there about New Year’s resolutions. Here’s more:
I’ve been thinking a lot about the  doing & being of things (leadership and meetings for example). Doing is about action. Being is about making conscious choices for  how you show up in the world. You can be all about DOING and go through life unconsciously. You can be all about BEING and not get traction on things that are important to you.

The way I see it, resolutions are concrete commitments to act—eat healthy, exercise, complete a project. They are the doing. Intentions are conscious choices you make for how you want to be—curious, generous, courageous. They are the being.

As you go into February, consider reflecting on both an intention and a resolution:

  • How do I want to BE in my relationships and my work? What’s the quality of experience I want others (and myself!) to have in my company?

  • What will I DO to support this intention?

Or flip it:

  • What will I DO this year to  bring more fulfillment and meaning to my life, either personally or professionally?

  • How do I need to BE in my relationships and my work to support this resolution?

Happy New Year, from my heart to yours.

Love,

Patty
